Questions

When should I go to the ER instead?

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 for facial swelling with fever, trouble breathing or swallowing, uncontrolled bleeding or a serious injury to the face or jaw.

What should I do with a knocked-out adult tooth?

Pick it up by the top, not the root. If you can, gently place it back in the socket or keep it in milk, and call us right away. Time matters.
